Hi Everyone,
I've been reading books aloud to my children for over 15 years. I had a hard time finding books that I thought nurtured my children's faith and imagination so I thought that I would share the books I have found with you. I'm going to post those books here in the order that we've read them. I'm not sure I'm going to remember them all but I'm going to try. That should be half the fun of this blog. It will bring back fond memories for me now that my children are getting older. I still read to them every night before bed. It has been a wonderful tradition. I encourage you to begin today with your children.
Okay, let's get started...Our first series was the Alex Series by Nancy Simpson. I started reading it when my daughter was in first grade. She was not interested in the popular chapter books available to her at the library or at school. When we found this series we were thrilled.

One little lie, but big trouble!
When Alex lies to her mom about losing her shoelaces, it doesn't seem like a big deal. But how do you replace special baseball laces when you don't have any money and you're not allowed to go to the store alone?
Shoelaces and Brussel Sprouts
These are darling books written for 7-10 year olds. There is a value taught in each book. Shoelaces and Brussels Sprouts taught the value of Honesty. I hope you enjoy this series as much as we did!
